Cartonization
What is FastTrak Cartonization
Cartonization is the method of using SKU and order data with business rules to make improved packaging decisions. Systems are designed to lower costs, increase order accuracy and revenues, and achieve rapid throughput. GRSI reviews the associated costs, benefits, and sustainability of many packaging options with the client to create the best Cartonization solution possible.
How FastTrak Cartonization works
Cartonization analyzes various SKU and order data to automate packaging decisions
- Dimensions
- Fragility
- Weight
- Positioning
- Family types (Ex. Glassware, liquid, hazardous)
- Business rules
- Special handling
Cartonization uses this information to optimally package orders in the correct shipping container (bag, carton, envelope, etc.) and use the optimal amount and type of protective packaging (peanuts, bubblewrap, foam, air pillows, etc.).
