RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)

RFID ChipGRSI helps put distribution centers on the cutting edge of technology with RFID.  This technology is required to meet the expectations of Wal-Mart, Department of Defense, and others, and is an exciting technology for customers who wish to explore new methods to increase efficiency and improve accuracy.  GRSI rigorously tests and customizes RFID systems to comply with any vendor.  This technology can be used for pallet/product tracking, receiving, security, or other custom applications.

RFID SystemA basic RFID system consists of three components; an antenna or coil, a reader (transceiver), and a tag (transponder) electronically programmed with unique information.  The antenna acts as a conduit between the tag and the reader, which controls data acquisition, facilitates communications, and emits radio signals to activate the tag.  This allows data to be read from and written to the tag.  RFID can be used to replace or accompany 2D bar code methods and allows for wireless tracking of outgoing orders or inventory.  Tags can be applied to packaging or embedded in packaging material.  Options include passive, semi-passive, or active tags; various antenna types; and low, high, and ultra high frequency tags and readers.
