Batch Picking

FastTrak OMS provides batch picking to maximize labor productivity and increase warehouse efficiency.  The software batches orders by cube size, cart/truck capacity, packaging type, shipping carrier, or other user-defined criteria.  Operators process multiple orders with only one pass through the picking area, eliminating repeat visits to the same pick location.  Super batches, comprised of single-piece orders, are ideal for customers that have separate pack stations for multiple and single item orders.  FastTrak automatically routes these orders to their appropriate pack station.  This process also applies to irregular shaped and special items that require packing to be completed at different stations.  Batching not only speeds picking but allows work to be optimally distributed between pack stations to increase fulfillment throughput. 

Wave Picking

FastTrak­ OMS divides a warehouse into zones for wave picking.  Operators pick items from their assigned zone.  Orders spanning multiple zones are automatically collated downstream to complete the order.  The software generates specific waves of items to be picked based on user-defined criteria.  Wave management improves productivity by reducing walk times and efficiently organizing labor.

Waveless Management

Waveless, realtime management systems are also available. Waveless management provides a balanced workload and dynamic processing of orders. There is no buffering or waiting time for each wave. When orders are received, they are processed through the distribution center. This process fully optimizes equipment and labor utilization.
