Conshohocken, PA 10/13/2010 - GRSI announces updated FastTrak WM+ software for automating, integrating, planning, and controlling warehouse activities from receiving to shipping. Automated equipment and manual operations are coordinated to optimize accuracy, efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization. A major enhancement of the newly released FastTrak WM+ is the integration of fullfunction, wall-to-wall warehouse inventory management capabilities into the core product. The FastTrak WM+ is composed of four modules that work together in various combinations. The modules include the warehouse management system (WMS), warehouse control system (WCS), order management system (OMS), and packaging integration (PI) system.
WM+ is an extension of the previous FastTrak 3.0 WES release. It is able to control equipment and subsystems from any manufacturer in order to manage all operations as efficiently and effectively as possible. FastTrak now handles the full range of inventory and order management as a single, highly integrated and supportable offering.
WMS utilizes light, bar code, voice-directed, and RF technologies to seamlessly control all aspects of the warehouse, from receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, replenishing, to check-out. It coordinates and directs resources and equipment including carousels, pick carts, A-frames, PPTL modules, automated guided vehicles, and other automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
WCS coordinates, controls, automates, and monitors material handling equipment and fulfillment methods. This includes support for conveyor sorting and routing; AS/RS; print and apply; in-motion manifesting; wireless, voice, and laser picking; pick/put-to-light; and RFID.
OMS organizes orders for efficient and accurate picking by combining both operator and automationbased fulfillment methods. Features, such as waving, batching, and cartonization, are standard mechanisms used to optimize fulfillment processing. OMS has a full range of inventory management tools to control putaway, storage, and pick location replenishment.
PI fully automates packaging operations such as automated packaging, literature and pack list insertion, sealing, weighing, labeling, and in-motion manifesting. This molds all last-100-feet (L1F™) operations into a single unified process.
