Pocket Label SystemAutomatically Print & Apply a Packing Lists & Shipping Labels 30 Packages per MinuteTrue Automated Print & Apply designed to replace the traditional shipping label and cumbersome “Packing List Enclosed” plastic pouch on outgoing parcel shipments. The system is designed to dramatically increase profits and eliminate the human labor and errors bottleneck in traditional shipping and manifesting systems. The Pocket Label Packing List System is designed for high volume parcel distribution operations.   The system is controlled by GRSI’s FastTrak® controls software that conveys, aligns, tracks, justifies and labels the outbound cartons. Upstream of the applicators, the system reads the cartons’ order barcode, looks up the label data in its’ real-time database and transmits the label data to the applicators. The cartons are tracked at a 1/8" resolution along the conveyor belt to the first applicator and the customer-packing list is printed and applied to the top or side of the carton. A scanner, positioned directly following the packing list applicator verifies the packing list. The carton continues on the conveyor to the second applicator and a slightly larger carrier-shipping label is printed and accurately applied over the packing list label. A scanner, positioned directly following the shipping label applicator verifies the shipping label. The system is designed to run in a continuous operation and can be operated by a single operator. An optional in-motion scale and scanner can be provided with the system to capture final carton weight for the shipping manifest.
The patented pocket label is “Thinking Outside The Box – LITERALLY” was required in order to conceptualize the patented two-label system design. The shipping label has a 7/8" outer perimeter adhesive border around a 6" x 4" (or custom size) non-adhesive center section to print the Outbound Parcel shipping information. The recipient can easily remove the shipping label’s non-adhesive center section by pulling a die cut zipper from left to right. Once the shipping label is removed, the confidential Packing List is exposed. The Packing List has 1/2" strips of adhesive on the left and right side with a non-adhesive center section that can easily be removed by pulling up in one motion. Paper only documents to file for record purposes since the adhesive portion of the shipping label and packing list stays on the carton. Static Terms & Conditions can be pre-printed (press-printed) on the back of the shipping label and packing list’s non-adhesive center section. The labels, in combination with the high-speed print-apply applicators, are designed to apply approximately 30 boxes per minute or roughly 1,200 plus an hour on one line. The labels are applied to the side or top of virtually any size and weight cartons or packages.
