FastTrak OMS is capable of batching orders based on size, shipper, business rules, or GRSI’s cartonization system. FastTrak OMS cartonization system selects the appropriate packaging type, carton, cold seal, envelope, or bag, based on the order’s dimensions and weight. FastTrak can determine and store each item’s dimensions and weights, use the client’s existing item database, or calculate the dimensions and weight of each order using GRSI’s proprietary DimScan™ technology. This system routes the order to its appropriate pack station and allows clients to use the optimal package type and size for every order. In addition, the solution calculates the type and quantity of void fill and product protection to be inserted. The goal is to reduce material and labor costs to their lowest level without sacrificing speed. GRSI professionals aim to create a system that is easily expandable or contractible to handle high fluctuations of order demand during seasonal peaks.
